William McEvoy, a shoe and bootmaker, was born in Ireland about 1810. He lived in Edgefield, South Carolina in 1850 and appears to have enslaved ten people. He is the only William McEvoy I can find in Edgefield in 1850. However his neighbours on the 1850 Federal Census and the 1850 Slave Schedule do not match.
