Tilman Magee was born in Antrim, Ireland about 1770. In 1850, Township 5, Pickens County, South Carolina, he was recorded with Elizabeth Magee, born c1792 South Carolina (his wife?), Eliza A c1827 SC, Manning c1829 SC, Elizabeth c1832 SC, Warren c1833 SC, and Franklin c1835 SC. His son also Tilman Magee 1800-1882 was living next door with his wife Lucinda Hunt. Tilman (Senior) enslaved one young man aged twenty. In 1860, Tilman C Magee 1800-1882 enslaved three human beings. According to research undertaken by Linda G Cheek of the Anderson County Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogical Society, Tilman Magee was a brother of William Magee/McKee born 1860 Antrim, Ireland who died in Anderson County, SC, Michael Magee 1759-1834, Abbeville County, SC and Benjamin Magee 1772-1860 Fair Play, Pickens County, SC.
