John Scott was a shoemaker born in Ireland about 1774. In 1850 he lived in York, South Carolina with his daughters Mary and Sarah also born in Ireland. Next door his son John Junior, born in Ireland in about 1803, lived. John or his son John Junior enslaved a 20 year old woman and a three year old boy.
